    Unite the Game and Inspire the Nation through Winning England Teams.
    We are excited to be searching for an Insights Data Scientist to join our Men's Technical division.

    The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing data pipelines, tables, views, and processes within Google Cloud Platform's BigQuery environment.

    You will collaborate closely with our performance technology team to ensure the efficient flow of data, enabling the creation of insightful reports and supporting data-driven decision-making.

    Your expertise in GCP and data engineering will be critical in shaping our data strategy.
    This role is advertised on a fixed-term basis for up to 6 months, plus the role is also part-time (0.4 full time equivalent)

    Our FA Technical teams support all aspects of Men's and Women's elite performance – including para football, the elite format of disability football that runs parallel to the mainstream game – so we can help England teams to win tournaments.

    Our teams manage everything from identifying talent to the development and coaching of multi-disciplinary teams throughout the age groups, up to our Senior England teams.

    To deliver on our goal we have invested heavily in developing a team of exceptional people capable of creating winning England teams at our world-class training facilities at our National Football Centre, St.


    Data Pipeline Development:
    Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines that efficiently collect, process, and transform data from various sources into BigQuery.

    Table and View Management:
    Create and manage tables and views in BigQuery to ensure data is structured, accessible, and optimized for analysis.

    Performance Optimization:
    Collaborate with the performance technology team to optimize data pipelines and processes for maximum speed and efficiency.

    Data Integration:
    Integrate data from different sources, ensuring data quality, consistency, and accuracy.

    Machine Learning Integration:
    Leverage your knowledge of machine learning to integrate predictive analytics and AI capabilities into data pipelines and processes.
    Documentation – create and maintain comprehensive documentation for data pipelines, tables, and views.
    Troubleshooting – identify and resolve data-related issues and performance bottlenecks.
    Collaboration – Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into effective data solutions.

    Comply with all company policies and procedures to ensure the highest standards of health, safety and well-being can be maintained.

    Proven track record in data engineering, with a focus on designing and optimizing data pipelines.
    Strong SQL and Python programming skills.
    Experience with data modelling and database design.
    Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field (Master's degree preferred)
    Knowledge of machine learning and its application in data pipelines (advantageous)

    It is responsible for promoting and developing every level of the game, from grassroots through to the professional game, and generates significant revenue to support investment into English football each year.

    The FA oversees England international teams acrossmen's, women's, youth and disability football, as well as running the National League System and FA Competitions including the Emirates FA Cup, Barclays FA Women's Super League, Adobe FA Women's Championship, and Women's FA Cup, and the world-class facilities of Wembley Stadium and St.

    George's Park, all with a purpose to Unite the Game and Inspire the Nation.

    We currently work within a hybrid working model whereby the expectation is to work from your contractual location for part of the week, and as and when required by the team.

    The remaining days can be worked remotely. Your contract with The FA will specify a fixed location of either Wembley Stadium, St. George's Park or our Processing Centre unless the role is advertised as a home-based contract.
