    Overview

    As a senior electronics design engineer you will be developing cutting edge electronics and firmware for new, and existing products and bespoke customer specific applications across all our product lines. Workload can vary from creating electronics for new product design to meet client or internal specifications through to supporting an existing client's request to upgrade or change a system in the field.

    You will also be involved in the continual improvement of the functionality, reliability and manufacturability of existing products. Daily tasks will include electronic circuit development, microcontroller programming, software development, acceptance testing and generation and review of technical documentation.

    You will be a key member of a small R&D team of dedicated and enthusiastic electronic/firmware and mechanical development engineers. So will have the opportunity and challenge to define, refine and improve our range of products and procedures.

    Duties & Responsibilities:

    • Design of new products from concept to in field introduction with an emphasis on simplicity of operation, reliability and manufacturability.
    • Developing circuit schematics, simulations and PCB layouts.
    • Microcontroller and DSP programming.
    • Providing engineering support to the existing product range.
    • ATEX/IECEx/UKEx accreditation of relevant products.
    • Liaising with internal departments such as Sales, Procurement, Projects and Production to ensure the best technical solution is provided in all instances.
    • Creating & maintaining engineering documentation such as specifications, proposals, test plans, reports and manuals.
    • To be responsible for delivering your set of objectives and to report progress on the delivery of these as agreed with your manager

    Skills & Experience:

    • Analog electronics design and development experience.
    • Digital Signal Processing design and development experience.
    • Extensive experience with high level development languages – preferably one or more of C++, and C.
    • Microcontroller C and assembly
    • Operating systems: Windows
    • Understanding of sensors, data gathering and distribution of data to various sources.
    • Wireless comms e.g. Bluetooth, LoRaWAN, IoT, LTE
    • Wired comms e.g. Ethernet, USB, RS 485, MODBUS, HART, I2

    Qualifications

    • Electronic/Electrical engineering degree or equivalent industry experience.
    • A number of years of professional experience in electronics & firmware development.
    • Having worked in a Research & Development environment is desirable.

    Salary & Benefits

    • upto £70,000 DOE
