DE&S and the SDA have exciting opportunities available to join them as a Security and Resilience Specialist.

  • Please note that if successful you will be expected to attend site on a regular basis.
  • Due to the nature of the role, some posts will be reserved for Sole UK Nationals and may require you to undertake DV clearance once in the role.
About the role
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Maintain awareness of current and emerging policies and their impact on existing security and business continuity practices.
  • Provide pragmatic advice to internal and external stakeholders to support compliance with security and business continuity requirements.
  • Support the development of security and/or business continuity policies, processes, and procedures, and drive continuous improvement through the sharing of knowledge and best practice.
  • Support/coordinate the completion of threat assessments, risk assessments and/or business impact analyses for the organisation using appropriate methods.
  • Contribute to the development of effective risk/threat mitigation solutions and advise managers and risk owners on any residual security or business continuity risks and issues.
  • Support the development of effective incident response structures.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of security and/or business continuity exercises programmes.
- ?Provide investigation and assessment of security and/or business continuity incidents and/or policy non-compliance.

Person specification

Experience in ONE of the following:

  • Defence
  • Security
  • Business continuity
  • Risk management
  • MSyI and/or MBCI
  • Level 3 Security Management Qualification (or equivalent)
  • Business Continuity Management (ISO22301)
In addition to the responsibilities above, the following?technical competences and behaviours?will be assessed at interview:
