Falkirk Council is inviting applications from talented, adaptable, and enthusiastic solicitors to join our legal services team on a full-time permanent basis.

The successful candidate will provide advice and representation across the full range of Council Services, with a particular emphasis on social work, housing representation and advice. Experience in the areas of childcare, incapacity, mental health, and housing law, with associated proof experience, would, therefore, be required.

The post offers excellent opportunities to combine a fulfilling and challenging role within a supportive team environment whilst gaining or expanding your experience of local government.

You are required to have a degree (LLB) and postgraduate diploma (DipLP), or equivalent. You will also be required to be entitled to practise law in Scotland.

Join us in making a difference in the local community and enjoy a diverse range of employee benefits when you work for Falkirk Council.

From the generous Local Government Pension Scheme, Childcare Voucher opportunities, hybrid working options, possibilities to purchase additional annual leave, AA memberships, Cycle-to-work initiatives, and more - Falkirk Council provides a flexible, diverse, and modern workplace.

We are committed to our corporate values of being Responsive, Innovative, Trusted and Ambitious. They shape how we conduct our business and the employees we want working for us. If you are the right person for this vacancy, join us.

If you are the successful candidate, you will be required to carry out a Disclosure Scotland check.
