JobTitle: Glasshouse Technician I Location: Research Triangle Park NC27709 Duration: 6 Months Job Type: Contract Work Type: Onsite Job Description: Duties: - Performplant and seed production based activities with commercial crops ina laboratory greenhouse to support plant science research.
Common tasks to be performed:- Hand watering fertilizing and plantmaintenance
- Samplingtransplanting pollinating and discarding plant
- Planting harvesting shelling andcounting seeds
- Assist with data collection and plant performanceobservations
- Mayinclude weekend and holiday hours
Skills:- Ability to perform all physical dutiesrequired in greenhouse operations under
adverseconditions. - Greenhouse experience preferred
- Demonstrated ability and motivation to workin unsupervised situations
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Commitment andadherence to excellent stewardship practices
- Ability to use MS office softwareand other databases efficiently
Education:- BS degree or equivalent in agronomyhorticulture or plant science related field or an associate degreewith 2 years of experience in plant biology
