Unitrust Protection Services (UK) Ltd have an exciting opportunity available for a Security Officer to join our team.

Location:
London


Contracted Hours: 56 Hours per week (3 days, 3 nights 3 off)

Pay:
£13.83 per hour


Role:

You will support the delivery of a truly exceptional customer journey for both staff and visitors. To achieve this, you will be/become well versed in the processes and practices of a Security professional. Excellence in customer service will be at the heart of the role. You will be part of a well drilled security operation.

Responsibilities:


  • Deliver outstanding customer service to staff and visitors

  • Promote the client, tenants other service providers positively to all you come in to contact with, throughout the customer journey
  • Be flexible and adaptable to all tasks or challenges
  • Be highly presentable, accountable; take responsibility and ownership for any tasks identified or allocated
  • Ensure all contact, be it internal or external; by telephone, face to face or any other medium; is clear, courteous, polite, professional and respectful
  • Ensure that all Health and Safety and Environmental procedures are followed and do not undertake any activity which could breach the SIA or other relevant regulations
  • To act with integrity and in the best interests of the company in a safe, compliant, and ethical manner
  • To be resilient to working in the most sensitive environments, dealing with any conflict with a respectful and empathic approach at all times
  • Act in accordance with Company Policies and Procedures and our Code of Conduct

Security Specific Responsibilities:


  • Welcome and assist staff, clients, tenants, and visitors to the premises in a warm and courteous fashion maintaining excellence as a standard throughout the customer journey
  • Ensuring that no unauthorised persons are permitted in prohibited areas
  • Check identity and credentials of staff, contractors and visitors where required
  • Rotation on different posts
  • Complete building patrols
  • Have an outstanding knowledge of the premises (inside and external) and able to assist staff, clients, tenants, and visitors with their queries
  • Direct all deliveries as required (to the Loading Bay)
  • Respond to alarms
  • Key Control
  • Record details of any suspected criminal activity on the premises (internal and external); commencing investigative procedures prior to onward reporting where necessary.

  • Resilient and calm under pressure with the ability to multitask and prioritise to help solve problems and overcome challenges
  • Selfconfidence and an interest in selfdevelopment.
  • Physically able to conduct all responsibilities associated with the roles documented
  • Ability to work to instruction and on your own initiative where required
  • Computer literate and confident with the use of Microsoft Office programmes
  • Demonstrate an awareness of security threats which remain relevant and up to date in the context of the current environment
  • Flexibility in regard to working practices, hours, and responsibilities.
  • A current and valid SIA license
  • Enhanced communication, listening and customer service skills or the ability to train, obtain, retain and develop further in this field.
  • First Aid at work or the ability to train and retain this qualification
  • Operation of CCTV/access control communications in an appropriate manner

Desirable Skills:


  • Exposure to relevant Protective Security or Counter Terrorism Advice
  • Previous experience of the security industry and / or within the hospitality sector or corporate environment with a view to obtaining an SIA licence if not already held.
  • Previous experience in technologies to detect security threats in any given environment
