Kenton Black is excited to present a new Audit & Accounts Senior position within a Top 20 UK accountancy firm that are currently enjoying strong growth across their business.

They are an 8-partner firm offering a full range of accounting services including Audit, Accounts Preparation, Tax Planning, Corporate Recovery, Corporate Finance, and Forensic Accounting.

This firm deals with a wide range of predominantly owner-managed businesses ranging from new start-ups to companies with turnovers ranging from £100k to more than £100m.

THE ROLE
As the new Audit & Accounts Senior you will split your time evenly (roughly 50/50) between each service where your main duties will include:

Audit:

  • Leading onsite audits with a team of Juniors, Semi Seniors, and Graduates.
  • Ensuring completion of assignments within appropriate budgets and time frames.
  • Leading and assisting in the planning of onsite audits either by implementing agreed plans, coordinating onsite resources, allocating the team to tasks and timescales for completion.
  • Leading on audit quality, ensuring adherence and compliance with company practices and auditing standards.
  • Working closely with Audit Juniors, reviewing their work, and supporting their development.
  • Being responsible for onsite audit findings report, identifying and documenting any areas of concern/risks identified, emphasising relevant messages, and submitting for review.
  • Developing good client relationships and communication to adapt your approach and ensure client satisfaction.
  • Understanding the impact on client relationships where there are multiple services offered from across the firm.
  • Offering support to team members and across other teams.

Accounts:

  • Completing Corporation and Self-Assessment Tax returns.
  • Producing Partnership and Sole Trader accounts.
  • Completing monthly Management Accounts and reporting.
  • Forecasting and budgets.
  • Reviewing and approving VAT returns.
  • Producing Statutory Accounts for Limited Companies.
  • Maintaining and developing strong client relationships is fundamental to their business.
They will also support and actively encourage you to:

  • Represent the firm at networking events and identifying opportunities to grow their business.
  • Assist in maintaining and developing new and existing client relationships.
  • Participate in internal team projects to assist the practice in its ongoing growth and development.

ABOUT YOU
You will be a part-qualified Auditor or Accountant with at least - 3 years working within an accountancy practice.

You will also have the ability to manage your own time effectively to ensure deadlines are met and also possess good communication skills with a professional manner and outlook.
