CLINICAL SCIENTIST(Non-Ionising Radiation Group)

BAND 8A

FULL-TIME 37.5 HOURS PER WEEK

PERMANENT

The Radiological Imaging and Protection Service of the Northern Ireland Regional Medical Physics Service is seeking to appoint a Clinical Scientist to professionally lead the provision of expert scientific and technical advice and support for non-ionising radiation protection across the Health and Social Care sector in Northern Ireland. The successful applicant will act as the appointed Laser Protection Adviser for Health & Social Care Trusts (HSCTs) and other bodies, and provide a Laser Protection Advisory service to these organisations. They will be encouraged to initiate service developments and undertake research in these fields.

The service has recently received significant investment in staffing in response to the growing demands of imaging and other services, and this post presents a great opportunity to be involved in an expanding and developing area.

Candidates should be a HCPC registered Clinical Scientist and a certified Laser Protection Adviser, or be in a position to achieve both within 12 months of appointment.

The post is based at Forster Green Hospital in Belfast and will involve service provision and travel across Northern Ireland.
