Description
The core component of this post is to provide critical care cover at the QE Critical Care Unit. A standard full time job plan will contain 10 programmed activities. A programmed activity will normally have a timetable value of 4 hours and a full-time consultant. The ITU DCC component will be 5.3PAs with 2PAs be devoted to supporting professional activities.

The remaining PAs will be made from a complementary speciality (e.g. Anaesthesia, Acute Medicine).

For applicants who are single speciality ICM, a bespoke job plan will be created with 8PAs being direct clinical commitments.

*Broad based experience in critical care including having worked in a major trauma centre.

  • Experience of working in a dedicated neurointensive care unit *Experience of working in the NHS *Effective communication skills *Able to communicate in English at a professional/academic level *Understanding of the NHS and NHS management *Able to work as part of a multidisciplinary team *Committed to economic use of resources *A flexible approach to service delivery *A commitment to and a clear understanding of Clinical Governance *Evidence of completion of high impact audits/QIPS in critical care *Evidence of understanding of research methodology, and an ability to critically appraise clinical research *Information Technology Skills
