Ibk is a community based, not-for-profit social enterprise with over 20 years' experience of providing Direct Payment Support to families, children and adults of all ages with a range of needs. We provide a bespoke matching service, finding the right PA for the right person


IBK are currently supporting a family to recruit an energetic and enthusiastic PA to work with their 2 children aged 13 and 10.

The boys are quite different in personality and have lots of interesting interests and hobbies.

The role will usually be providing support on a 1:1 basis to one of the brothers and could include anything from football to den building or mini beat hunting to water play The children both have a learning difficulty and some communication difficulties and one of the children requires some personal care support and prompts.

The ideal PA will be calm and engaging, have a solid understanding confidentiality and some experience in working with young people with similar needs.

Hours per week

One child has 5 hours term time ad 8 hours non term time.

One child has 7.5 hours term time and 8 hours non term time

There is scope for additional hours for the right PA.

Term time hours


Normally, one of the brothers hours are covered supporting him at Cubs on a Monday (6-8pm) and Mencap on a Friday (6-9pm).


The other brothers hours were to pick him up from school on a Monday and Friday and come home with him on the bus, with a bigger chunk of time on the weekend, ideally Saturday afternoon.

Non term time hours

9am-5pm on one day during the week

However, there is quite a lot of flexibility around the actual days and times.

Essential

Willing to learn from the young person and their family.
Be friendly, reliable, and honest; and maintain confidentiality.
Be respectful in the family home.
Be creative and confident in your personal approach to involving the children in new opportunities.
Experience of working with people with additional needs
A calm and friendly nature

Desirable

Experience and understanding of communication difficulties.
Having interests, hobbies and skills you could share with the young person

Part-time hours: 12-28 per week

£9.50 per hour
