- Manufacture a range of sensors using mechanical methods
- Develop high throughput sensor manufacturing approaches
- Plan and execute work to progress the development of sensor attachments to soft tissue for precise measurement.
- Work with the PI and team to analyse, interpret and data
- Work closely with postdoctoral associates, PhD students and collaborators to ensure smooth research team function
- Participate actively in group meetings
- Contribute in the lab to ensure safety is considered and maintained
- Be studying towards a Mechanical Engineering Degree (must be late-year undergraduate or similar)
- Experience of laboratory work including designing and creating wearable sensors.
- Experimental experience working in a team for the testing of sensors
- Experience of skin-interfacing technologies
- Experience working in a multidisciplinary environment/team
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Research lab experience with demonstrated independent working capabilities
- An understanding of soft tissue mechanics
- Career aspirations to contribute in this field of engineering

Detailed Description
We are recruiting a research associate to the Soft Tissues and Biomedical Devices Lab at Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh, Scotland. The selected candidate will join a multi-disciplinary team to work on a project seeking to develop novel mechanical sensors for medical and sports science applications.
