We are currently recruiting for an experienced Assurance Specialist to join our HSE Team in Grangemouth, on a temporary basis.


Purpose of the role:


Develop and deliver an annual Management Systems assurance plan for Petroineos to support HSE, ensuring the Petroineos business is able to demonstrate that any compliance gaps are known and that plans to close these are being effectively implemented.


Provide an independent audit resource for Petroineos Management Systems, determining both internal compliance and potential imported risk through audit of Key Contractors and External Suppliers, providing evidence of compliance status to Petroineos Management and the PIMSL Board.


Provide information directly to the Refinery Manager, HSE Manager and audit requestors when the capability of the management systems to achieve intended results has been seriously compromised.


Establish and sustain a compliance culture within Petroineos to ensure that Plants are operated both legally and safely and that processes and procedures are optimised for efficiency and effectiveness and that loss is minimised.


Key Accountabilities:


  • Develop and deliver a compliance audit plan covering the Petroineos Management System Processes and Standards in order to drive a culture change in both audit and compliance.
  • Provide through audit recommendations, changes to the Management Systems processes and procedures.
  • Establish and sustain a compliance culture through audit within Petroineos to ensure that Plants are operated both legally and safely
  • Develop and conduct bespoke independent internal audits
  • Deliver assurance through audit on key External Suppliers (UK and International locations) to the procurement manager.
  • Lead and coordinate Technical Authority multidisciplinary audits of new Suppliers and deliver final assurance reports to Petroineos management
  • Lead and Deliver verification audits of Petroineos Term Contractors Deliver risk based Audit programmes to Managers to meet the current business demand, whilst meeting the audit requirements for Legislation and ISO registrations.
  • Prepare data highlighting compliance gaps to aid business planning, including findings from audits of the effectiveness of Regulator actions.
  • Provide assurance reports on the process for Organisational Management of Change.
  • Prepare and provide reports as require as evidence of the compliance status of Petroineos for Regulators and ISO Registration bodies (BSI)
  • Provide monthly assurance updates to the Petroineos Leadership and drive compliance

Education/Experience:


Education/Experience:

  • A minimum years in a Quality Assurance or auditing role
  • ISO Lead Auditor (Quality or Environment).
  • Detailed understanding of Standards ISO/BSI/ASTM etc.
  • Broad Knowledge of legislative requirements relating to Refinery manufacturing.
  • Ability to effectively and pragmatically represent Petroineos in interactions with various parties including 3rd Party Assessors, Term Contractor and Supplier Management.
  • High degree of communication, influencing skills and cultural awareness
  • Ability to solve complex issues and work outside the core technical area.
  • Selfmotivating and selfmanaging professional
  • Excellent attention to detail.
The salary for this role is up to circa £59k dependent on experience.
