SUMMARY OF THE ROLE

Trainee Yard Operative for heavylift and transport projects:


  • £10-£11 per hour, depending on experience:
-
Based at our yard in Thornaby, Teesside


Do you enjoy getting hands-on with heavy equipment? Keeping our yards tidy and organized is critical to maintaining our specialist fleet.

As a yard employee you will be responsible for making sure this happens to a high standard.


WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

  • Loading and unloading equipment
  • Picking and fitting material
  • Operating basic machines, signaling and radio communications
  • Working as part of an effective team
  • Complying with work and safety standards

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

  • Professional level communication skills, and experience in yard operations and auxiliary equipment. Basic level experience in rigging operations and equipment, hydraulics, mechanics, and electrics. Strong situational awareness.
  • English, basic proficiency verbal and written
  • Safety training and certification
  • Evidence of experience in a similar role, ideally in any/some of the following sectors: civil engineering, construction, renewables, oil and gas, offshore, ports and mining would be preferred
