Castle Combe Circuit has been welcoming fans of racing, car shows and a variety of other events for over 70 years.

Based in the beautiful county of Wiltshire, we provide easy access to anyone in the South-West but also welcome a broad range of visitors fromacross the UK.


As a circuit we promote car and motorbike racing and even cycling events as well as action days; however, our range of events does not stop there.

Our team co-ordinate a host of other events ranging from car boot sales to Steam Rallies and other fun experiences.


The last few years have seen many changes in the motor, events and hospitality industries, and Castle Combe Circuit wants to embrace these changes.

Castle Combe is currently reshaping the way we work with the exciting brand and commercial development witha focused future vision plan for the circuit.

Therefore, to take us forward, we have an exciting opportunity for a Commercial Manager to join us and help lead the business into the future.


The role


The Commercial Manager will be responsible for ensuring the seamless management of Castle Combe's sales, marketing, sponsorship, hospitality, and retail.


You will provide commercial management and expertise to develop a profitable portfolio and broaden our market share by identifying business opportunities.

Your duties will include negotiating and overseeing contracts, sponsorship deals, new business opportunitiesand leading our sales and marketing strategy and team.

You will report to and support the General Manager.


Core duties

  • Bring in new business from existing and new customers.
  • Develop new areas of business and income streams.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with customers, sponsors, suppliers and other stakeholders.
  • Oversee and manage daily activities within sales, marketing, hospitality and retail.
  • Line manage employees within the sales, marketing and retail team.
  • Project manage sales and marketing campaigns.
  • Oversee marketing and sales strategies, manage budgets and report cost plans to the General Manager.
  • Resolve contractual and commercial problems.
  • Create a positive, continuous improvement working environment and ensure objectives are met.
  • Manage contractual arrangements with stakeholders.
  • Successfully managing teams of people.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Strong strategic and negotiation skills to make sound commercial decisions.
  • Experience of gaining and maintaining sponsorship deals.
  • Experience of managing sales and marketing associated with major outdoor events across a large estate.
  • Proven planning and organisation skills.
  • Developing and implementing successful sales and marketing campaigns.
  • Strong communication skills both written and oral.
  • Knowledge of laws and regulations and industry trends.
  • Solid financial skills, including financial reporting ability.
  • Solid project management skills.
  • Committed to compliance and safety.
  • Ability to build consensus and relationships between managers, employees and stakeholders.

Qualifications
Degree or equivalent in Business Development, Business Management, Business Administration or related field.

Strong IT skills including productivity software


Working hours
Your normal hours will be 9.00 am to 5.30 pm, Monday to Friday.

However we do operate 7 days a week with the majority of our events taking place over Spring, Summer and Autumn.

This means you will be expected to work some weekends and additional hours inline with operational needs.
