    The Role

    The Supplier Development Engineer will compile Supplier Performance Reports, perform external audit reports, collect Supplier performance data and obtain and approve supplier PPAP submissions in support of new or changed product information.

    The tasks will consist of but not be limited to:

    Qualification of new Suppliers
    Assess new and current suppliers capabilities including PPAP approval
    Monitor and control the audit programme
    Perform process audits
    Advise on continuous improvements at suppliers and monitor progress
    Provide support to the SEWS-E sites in overcoming quality problems they may have with suppliers
    Set pro-active development programs with suppliers to ensure materials and products meet specification. Apply statistical and other analytical methods to evaluate process stability and suitability
    Assist in root cause identification and containment following quality complaints
    Ensuring suppliers meet the requirements of new product introduction for new projects and build phases to all SEWS-E sites
    Use and development of SEWS-E quality tools such as PPAP system, PCN - change management, Supplier Quality Performance and Supplier Evaluation
    Skills and Qualifications Required
    Excellent communication skills with English speaking and writing ability
    Second party auditor or certified lead auditor
    IT literate/MS Office
    Valid driving licence
    Experience required
    Experience in a similar role within a comparable, highly regulated industry sector
    Advising and assisting suppliers applying the principles of IATF 16949 and other recognised quality systems
    Knowledge and understanding of core quality tools (APQP, FMEA, MSA, SPC, PPAP)
    Practical experience of problem solving (8D, 5Y, Ishikawa, etc)
    Experience in the use of applied quality tools (Kaizen, 5S, six sigma etc)
    Special Conditions
    Must have an existing right to work in the UK
    Able to work unsociable working hours when necessary
    Travel to suppliers and SEWS-E sites in Europe and North Africa
