    Contract Type:Permanent**An exciting new role has come available to supervise a team of 24/7 Operators and work in conjunction with the department management team to ensure the PNC Bureau achieves its objectives and provides an efficient service to the Force and other criminal justice agencies

As PNC Bureau Shift Supervisor you will be responsible for:

  • Supervising a team of 24/7 operators, co-ordinating and re-arranging rotas to maintain sufficient cover for the department.
  • Supporting the force in achieving its objectives by utilising our many IT systems and maintaining a full working knowledge of statutory legislation in relation to criminal record keeping and associated processes.
  • Allocating workloads and ensuring responses to requests for information are expedited in line with the agreed timescales to meet local (Force) and national (Home Office) targets.
  • Directing, advising and supporting staff who are required to search and update all relevant computer systems.
  • Conducing appraisals for the team of Band B operators and identifying and managing training needs as they arise.
  • Authorising leave and managing appropriate staff cover using the force duties management systems available.
  • Managing welfare and performance issues as required.
  • Attending meetings with or on behalf of the department management team.

Skills and experience:


  • Experience of Microsoft office packages.
  • Experience of supervising and managing a team.
  • Ability to manage workloads.
  • Ability to achieve deadlines.
