As a Technical Artist you will work across multiple cutting-edge AAA games where your unique skillset will help shape the workflow of the future.

Responsibilities:


  • Work closely with the Project Lead to complete the assigned tasks to the quality level expected for the project, in the time allocated to each stage of each task and paying close attention to technical and organisational details as provided.
  • Work closely with the Department Leads to ensure that all assets delivered to clients conform to the specified technical requirements.
  • Assist with the creation and maintenance of documentation on tools, methods processes and engine / project specific pipelines.
  • Proactively seek and listen actively to all task feedback (from clients or more senior developers), and cleanly and efficiently adjust work to address any points that are raised.
  • Participate in peer reviews and help to mentor more junior members of the team.
  • Assist with updates to documentation where appropriate.
  • Assist with marketing requests if required.
  • Ability to assist with mentoring junior artists while demonstrating a willingness to share proven skills and techniques.

Experience:


  • Good experience with leading industry software and workflows, including hard surface modelling (Maya/Max/Blender), sculpting in ZBrush, Substance Painter, and general use of Photoshop.
  • Good understanding of how to create a range of optimised gameready models.
  • Good understanding of physically based material workflows and shaders.
  • Good ability to create new shaders from scratch in Unreal and/or Unity.
  • Good ability to create Blueprints from scratch in Unreal.
  • Ability to closely follow a defined brief/instructions for a task, seeking more information or reference where necessary.
  • Ability to integrate assets into Unreal and/or Unity according to provided specifications.
  • Experience with source control (Perforce, Git, etc.).
  • Ability to create basic scripts to facilitate/enhance workflows (eg. Python, MAXScript, MEL).
  • Proven attention to detail.
  • Houdini Knowledge is a plus.
