    The Tax Team at TikTok helps ensure that our company and all our products are tax-compliant throughout different regions and countries.

    Also, the Tax Team provides support to internal requests and works with multiple different stakeholders to support product and business launches and new features.


    Position Summary:

    TikTok is seeking an enthusiastic VAT Manager to join the Tax team to support its rapid business growth in Europe especially in e-Commerce.

    The ideal candidate has corporate and international tax advisory experience in Europe, across a broad range of topics relevant to a large multinational business.

    They will work closely with colleagues in multiple departments (. Accounting, Legal, Transfer Pricing, Treasury, HR) to add valuable input in multiple jurisdictions in a fast-paced environment.


    Key Responsibilities:

    • VAT

    Compliance Oversight:
    Overall responsibility for all VAT compliance of relevant entities.

    Prepare periodic and annual VAT returns, manage relationships with local tax authorities, and handle audits.- Process Efficiency and Automation: Review current VAT reports and taxability matrices for process efficiency and automation improvements.

    Recommend system and process changes to enhance efficiency in VAT reporting.- Advisory Role: Act in an advisory capacity for Europe VAT matters


    • Legislative Tracking:
    Track changes in VAT rules and regulations. Provide internal communication on updates.- Research and

    Impact Modeling:
    Research and model impacts of important VAT legislative and policy proposals. Implement appropriate strategies and solutions in response to new VAT rules.- Risk Identification and Value-

    Add Opportunities:
    Identify tax risks and value-add opportunities within the VAT area. Develop action plans and collaborate with stakeholders for positive results.- Structuring and

    Advisory Support:
    Provide VAT structuring, restructuring, supply chain, and process improvements.

    Offer VAT advice/support on various business lines/projects and handle ad-hoc tax matters.- Tax Training and Support: Conduct tax training sessions for various stakeholders.

    Provide support to the Europe Head of Tax and HQ International Tax Team on advising the business on the VAT impact of new initiatives.



    • Industry Experience: Proven eCommerce industry working experience. TMT/technology industry experience may also be considered.
    • Professional Qualification: Qualified in a professional Accountancy Qualification
    • ACA / ATT or CTA qualified or equivalent experience (., gained with HM Revenue and Customs).
