BAND 4 PHYSIOTHERAPY ASSISTANT PRACTITIONER - SURGICAL AND CRITICAL CARE - UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL HAIRMYRES
We are looking to recruit a permanent, full-time band 4 Physiotherapy Assistant Practitioner to join the Surgical and Critical Care Physiotherapy team within University Hospital Hairmyres.
You will be an integral part of a supportive team and wider department. You will be expected, under supervision, to manage a designated caseload within the surgical wards. The post also covers critical care where you will work jointly with senior staff to treat appropriate patients.
With training, you will play a key role within the multi-disciplinary team, assessing and treating patients, leading discharge planning and ensuring all clinical and non-clinical related administration is completed timeously and to the required standard.
An inclusive team approach, excellent communication skills and the ability to manage your time effectively is essential.Appropriate support will be provided to develop staff joining the physiotherapy team.
Working hours are , Monday to Friday.
KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED TO DO THE JOB
- Formal qualification at HNC Level or equivalent level of experience in a health / education / social care environment plus short specialist courses relevant to specific clinical area
- Awareness of health legislation relevant to the clinical area.
- Knowledge of the clinical speciality/area process, techniques and / or activities relevant to client group.
- Effective listening, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Time management, planning and organisational skills.
- Working knowledge of basic information technology.
- Ability to work individually or as part of a team
- Ability to learn and develop new skills and maintain a record of learning.
