    A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Logistics Team Leader to join our Dagenham distribution site. The role will report into the Logistics Front Line Manager and will support the operational requirements outlined by the FLM. You will be responsible for managing and organising a diverse team of distribution colleagues to meet customer requirements.

    KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Monitor Health & Safety compliance within the function, ensuring that safety is paramount and that unsafe behaviour is discouraged
  • Ensure compliance with all business systems including SAP, Microlise and other management tools
  • Monitor the daily return of all Primary/Radial and despatch paperwork
  • Ensure compliance with all Company policies, procedures processess and systems applicable to the function
  • Ensure that SOPs and SSOW are applied and that all MHE and associated activities are fit for purpose
  • Allocate and arrange staffing cover as deemed necessary
  • Deal with adhoc journeys efficiently
  • Ensure employees hours and agency costs are correct and issued at a time agreed with the appropriate Manager
  • Ensure drivers work within all applicable working time regulations
  • Manage infringements in line with Company policy
  • Maintain a good working knowledge of Primary and Radial routes
  • Maintain all aspects of customer service levels throughout the operation
  • KNOWLEDGE & QUALIFICATIONS

    Essential:

  • Knowledge and understanding of systems within a logistics function
  • Knowledge of FMCG environment including HACCAP and Health & Safety legislative requirements
  • Desirable:

  • IOSH
  • Class 1/Class2 Licence
  • Experience:

  • Logistics and Warehouse operations
  • Supervisory experience within FMCG
  • Tachographs, telematics and vehicle defect knowledge
  • Working within a trade union environment
  • Shift Working
  • Change and Quality orientation
