We partner with mid-sized to multinational clients to take their business further, with more than 30 lines of business to offer solutions for existing and emerging risks.     The key purpose of the role is to support the Head of Capital Modelling - Division in ensuring that the risk profile of our XL Bermuda legal entity is adequately modelled and communicated. In particular this includes supporting engagement with the BMA for an Internal Model Approval Process.

    What will your essential responsibilities include?
    • Achieve and maintain approval of the Internal Model with the BMA.
    • Manage delivery of regulatory capital assessments for XL Bermuda, including engagement with the BMA as required.
    • Analyse and present such information from the Capital Model as may be required to support the decision making of the XL Bermuda, including bridging and explaining differences between Solvency II approaches and those of the BMA.
    • Ensure adaptions to the AXA XL Divisional Internal Model meet the ongoing requirements of the BMA and maintain all relevant documentation.
    • Identify potential areas of improvement for the model and ensure it continues to reflect the risk profile of the Bermuda entity.
    • Support other Centres of Excellence within the Risk Management Department with analysis from the Capital Model as may be required to inform their processes.
    • Communicate the output and methodology with other parts of AXA XL, including those with a non-technical background.
    • Ensure governance processes are appropriately followed and data quality standards are met.
    • Provide ad-hoc support to the divisional capital modelling team.

    • Demonstrable track record in capital modelling or other simulation-based modelling role
    • Curious, inquisitive, innovative and open to new ideas
    • Excellent attention to detail
    • Competent ReMetrica user
    • Highly numerate and analytical with very good academic record
    • Good written and verbal communication skills
    • SQL and R coding skills beneficial
    • A self-starter with strong organizational skills
