    You will support capital investment projects at various stages of delivery, these range in value from £1M - £10M and your role will be to Business Partner the budget holders. You will be focussed on performance improvement, business analysis & insight, strategic business planning, budgeting & forecasting activities.

    This is a forward-looking role that will work closely with the various budget holders providing timely and effective support and challenge including the responsibility of the delivery of the monthly forecast, annual budget and 5yr plans.

    This is suitable for a professionally qualified accountant with a track-record of business partnering, driving performance and who is based within easy commuting distance of Reading.

    The role will include:

    • Challenging the business on financial performance, to drive improvements, providing insight, knowledge and recommendations at Head of / Director level.
    • Guide the business on strategic planning activities from a finance perspective in line with their business plan, identifying key risks and opportunities.
    • Co-ordinate and lead robust forecasts, budgets and longer term planning. Providing financial insight and challenge as necessary to ensure budgets are accurate and realistic.
    • Work with the business to identify and review business cases for capital investments, proposals, contracts, WIP, efficiency opportunities and monitor the financials for the capital portfolio.

    Candidate qualifications & experience:

    • Qualified accountant with significant post-qualifying experience (PQE) in a Business Partner or Finance Manager level role.
    • Experience in a business-interfacing role solving business issues of similar scale and complexity using analytical and financial modelling skills.
    • A strong background in a project driven business with understanding of contract management, project delivery and financial planning.
    • Skills in interpreting and assimilating from multiple data sources, including external market data, and rendering into meaningful insight and appropriate recommendations.
