    Description

    An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our neonatal and paediatric teams with our newly created Dual neonatal/paediatric band 5 nurse role Working in both the award winning purpose built Dyson Centre for neonatal care and our paediatric ward.

    We welcome applications from experienced paediatric Nurses, newly qualified and student children's nurses


    Paediatrics as they develop their services to care for children with a wide range of medical and surgical conditions from 0-18 years.

    You will deliver care to some of the most vulnerable patients including newly diagnosed diabetics, oncology patients and those in our high dependency area.


    Also the neonatal unit (NNU) is fully UNICEF Baby Friendly Neonatal accredited and has a dedicated feeding advisor to support parents and staff.

    Family integrated and developmental care is championed at all times.

    Whether you're a newly qualified nurse or an experienced Paediatric Nurse, the RUH as a Trust will invest in developing your skills and practice.

    Acting as a Named Nurse, to maintain accountability for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating programmes of care withinthe framework of team nursing.

    To co-ordinate the patients' discharge arrangements in accordance with the RUH Discharge Policy.
    To promote a patient focused approach to care in collaboration with all relevant health professionals.
    To develop own teaching skills and participate in staff/student

    To help maintain a suitable learning environment for staff and act as a facilitator in the supervision and teaching of less experienced staff.

    To contribute to the setting and monitoring of measurable standards of care and be accountable for maintaining standards.

    To maintain awareness of the national, professional and local quality issues relevant to the delivery of nursing services, e.g.

    To uphold quality initiatives that improve 'customer care' and enhance the interface between staff, patients and visitors.

    To develop and maintain an awareness of budgeting, exercising care and economy in the ordering and use of equipment.
