  • Barker Ross Group are currently recruiting on behalf of The University of Manchester for an experienced Domestic Supervisor/Housekeeper to join their team as soon as possible
  • The role will be a permanent position working 35 hours per week. The core hours are 8am3.30pm Monday to Friday with a 30 minute unpaid break for lunch.
  • The annual salary for this role will be £24,248 £25,742 depending on experience.
  • The purpose of the role is to support the Assistant Domestic Coordinator for the provision of domestic services within halls of residence, in line with the agreed standards of service.
  • Key duties will include:
  • Day to day planning and delivery of domestic services
  • Providing appropriate and timely services to all student residents and conference/vacation guests
  • Planning staffing requirements on a daily basis including planning of cover for annual leave and sickness absences
  • Making sure domestic services are carried out to agreed operating standards
  • Assist with induction, training/learning and development of staff
  • Assist with performance management matters
  • Ensure that staff personal hygiene and professional appearance, including work clothing/footwear is in line with agreed standards at all times
  • The safe use, keeping and maintenance of domestic equipment and materials
  • Monitoring and managing stock supplies including white goods, laundry services, chemical supplies and equipment
  • Monitor staff timesheets
  • Inputting maintenance requests
  • Following health and safety, COSHH, manual handling and PPE regulations
  • Experience of working within domestic services/a cleaning role
  • A good understanding of Health & Safety including risk assessments, COSHH and manual handling
  • Able to supervise staff, coordinate work activities and train staff on the job
