We are currently looking for an experienced administrator to work withing the local Coroners office in Crook


Listed below are the responsibilities this role will be primarily responsible for:

  • Organising and co-ordinating coronial inquests.
  • Organising and managing digital/remote attendees to court.
  • Assisting the Coroners in court and execute associated administrative services as required by the Coroner, which may include presenting information to court.
  • Producing full audio recordings of all Inquests.
  • Usher attendees to and from court.
  • Maintain the Coroners diaries within the WPC system and recording, updating and maintaining accurate data
  • Booking the necessary Court rooms for inquests.
  • Liaise with bereaved families.
  • Process sensitive and potentially upsetting material in relation to the deceased.
  • Management of court documentation.
  • Process relevant documentation at the conclusion of hearings and inquests.
  • Assist the Coroner Service Manager in the administration of the WPC case management system.
  • Maintain absolute confidentiality and comply with relevant data protection regulations.
  • The above is not exhaustive and the post holder will be expected to undertake any duties which may reasonably fall within the level of responsibility and the competence of the post.

The person

  • Must be educated to 4 GCSE's Graded A-C including English Language or Literature or NVQ Level 2 in Business Admin or related qualification or equivalent
  • Experience in a customer facing role.
  • Experience in an administrative environment.
  • Experience in using video conferencing systems.
  • Competent and comfortable in using a range of ICT.
  • Experience in using databases.
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to manage digital filing systems
  • Ability to deal with emotionally sensitive information.

From £11.18 per hour
