Job summary:


His Majesty's Naval Base Clyde (HMNB Clyde) is home to the United Kingdom's Strategic Nuclear Deterrent, Astute Class Attack Submarines, Sandown Class Mine Hunter Vessels and 43 Cdo Royal Marines.

It is an operational support and maintenance base, within the Navy Command TLB and comprises both Faslane and Coulport sites.

HMNB Clyde's primary purpose is to provide engineering and logístical support to the Royal Navy in maintaining Continuous at Sea Deterrent (CASD).

This is achieved by ensuring at least one Vanguard Class submarine is on patrol at sea every day of the year.


RNAD Coulport is responsible for the storage, processing, maintenance and issue of the Trident Weapon System and the ammunitioning of all submarine-embarked tactical weapons.


Working within the Royal Navy Sailing Centre located within HMNB CLYDE, the role of the Sailing Centre Instructor 2 is to work in a cooperative manner to manage the provision of Sailing and waterborne courses, ensuring a safe environment at all times.

This position is advertised at 37 hours per week.


Job description:


The Sailing Centre Instructor 2 is responsible to the PDev Officer, 1st Lt and the Executive Command for the delivery of all waterborne Physical Development pillars, policies and intent within HMNB Clyde.


They report directly to the WO1PT (North) and liaise with Regional CPOPT & SO1 AT on day to day issues with 1st Lt having formal LM responsibility.


The position undertakes the execution of all Sailing Centre activities within HMNB Clyde and Northern Region, including Sail Training and Paddle activities, liaising with local civilian SME's and authorities to aid delivery and execution as necessary.

Working with the Sailing Centre Assistant 1, they ensure the most effective results are obtained from the resources available.
