We are an established Main Contractor, based in Glasgow, Manchester, and Bristol, undertaking new build, refurbishment, facades, and insurance reinstatement work within the industrial, commercial, residential, and retail sectors throughout the United Kingdom.

We recently celebrated our 40th year anniversary of trading and have a proven track record in high-performance project delivery within the Construction Industry.

We have pipeline of work until Q3 2027 and in 2023 tendered over £300m of forthcoming projects.

Additionally, we operate in sheltered markets, free from recessionary pressures, which protects the business' medium to long term growth strategy.

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an Estimating Assistant to join our commercial team.

The role will be full time on a permanent contract, within a fast-paced environment and will be based at our Glasgow Head Office.

Whilst the role will suit someone seeking an administrative role within a small team, there is also optional progression via training and development, initially to Assistant Estimator level.


Duties include:


  • Logging in tenders and allocating an enquiry number in line with QA procedures
  • Downloading and saving tender documentation
  • Inputting bills of quantities into estimating software (software training provided)
  • Managing our supply chain database
  • Issuing subcontractor and supplier enquiries
  • Inputting quotes received into estimating software
  • Administering and saving returned quotations to the respective enquiry folder
  • Coordination of tender queries
  • Updating and preparation of tender registers, reports and associated spreadsheets
  • Assist with the preparation of handover documents for successful tenders
  • Assist the Estimating Manager with their regular duties
  • Assist with the preparation and submission of tender returns including any portal upload
  • Assist with the preparation and submission of prequalification questionnaires (PQQ's)
  • General administrative duties

Requirements and skills:


  • Excellent administration skills and conversant in Microsoft Office
  • Attention to detail
  • An ability to work to strict deadlines and prioritise workload
  • An ability to work independently but also participate fully as a team member
  • Administrative experience in a similar environment
  • Experience of working within the construction industry
  • A positive, 'cando' attitude
  • Polite, courteous and professional

Salary:
£25,000.00-£28,500.00 per year
