    I am currently looking for an ambitious and enthusiastic individual who has a claims/insurance background to come and join the team as a Reinsurance Claims Technician.

    This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to learn and grow their career within Reinsurance Claims at a time where the business is rebuilding and growing.


    Key Role Responsibilities:
    Providing support to Senior Claims Advocates and Claims Manager as and when required.

    Managing own workload and time, to maximise efficiency and ensure that deadlines and targets are metUndertaking ongoing communication with claims colleagues, accounts and other Divisions to ensure timely & accurate production of documentation & maintenance of systems and recordsOperational:
    Overseeing and completing production of new claims files and ensuring they are complete in line with defined standardsOn receipt of claim notification, identify risk, review details in conjunction with coverage/wording afforded, acknowledge to client/intermediary, prepare claims file accurately and promptly and maintain in-house and external computerised claims recordsReviewing and assessing claims anticipating any potential issues/queries and deciding on action requiredReviewing claims received and providing feedback to placing Brokers / management where required to minimise future issues arisingHighlighting any potential issues to management prior to going to UnderwritersProducing claims information and presenting to reinsurers, either in written or networked format such as CLASS or LORS and dealing with any resultant instructions, queries and/or enquiries Monitoring reinsurers' agreement and payment of funds and ensuring that payment is made to the appropriate beneficiary in good timeEnsuring effective liaison with Accounting colleagues both in respect of collection/payment of funds, any queries and the subsequent clearance of accounting entriesIdentifying any potential errors and omissions if situations ariseReporting any claims difficulties immediately to managementEnsuring relevant insurer's instructions are notified to Client/PrincipleTimely and efficient problem resolution using broad experience gainedBuilding meaningful relationships with Clients, experts and insurers by dealing with them in a prompt, friendly and professional manner at all timesMaintaining claims filingMonitoring workload and reporting to management as appropriateProducing accurate and quality correspondence, filtering information to ensure of most relevance to receiverProviding regular feedback to Claims Manager on portfolio of claims, current status and market conditions and their possible implicationsAttending internal / client meetings as appropriateEnsuring compliance with FCA Guidelines and Group rules and procedures, including maintaining accurate records

    Relationship Management:
    Continuing to develop and maintain relationships with peers and colleagues both within Division & across the GroupContinuing to develop and manage relationships with underwriters, adjusters, attorneys, clients, and industry peersActively participating in regular team discussions/updates

    Generic Knowledge Requirements:

    Sufficient knowledge and understanding of the general concepts of insurance to be able to perform the Principal TasksGood working knowledge of the Underwriters and markets; and their practices, documentation and customsGood working knowledge of reinsurance class and other relevant insurance and regulatory procedures.
