    Description

    Bird Hills Golf Centre are searching for the right candidate to join our hardworking senior management team. The right candidate should be experienced in working within a similar environment, have excellent interpersonal skills and excel at forming relationships.

    We are looking for someone to help us improve and streamline our organisational processes as well as maintain a high quality of attention to detail within the day to day financial management of the Club.

    Essential to the job will be a working knowledge of event and function management. The Clubhouse Manager will be responsible for driving the business forward in respect of all functions to include member events, weddings, parties, wakes and conferences. This includes initial enquiry, function sale and event/function operations.

    The Clubhouse Manager will lead the hospitality team which includes the Duty Managers, Supervisors and Front of House Staff. They will work directly with the Head Chef to ensure that all food provision is of the highest standards and maximum sales are achieved throughout all clubhouse activities.

    Main Purpose of Job

    • To be responsible for the day to day smooth and efficient management of the clubhouse activities and events.
    • To realise the potential for growth of the function, bar and catering service and ensure the Club's financial success. Confident to lead function sales and operations - responsible for the venue sales, from initial enquiry through to managing the event. These to include but not limited to, weddings, parties, wakes and proms.
    • To ensure an attractive and appetising food and beverage offering for members and visitors
    • To be responsible for the upkeep, maintenance and legal obligations relating to the Clubhouse and bar
    • To liaise with the Head Chef in relation to the administration of the catering department
    • To be responsible for the recruitment, induction, training, development and management of all Front of House staff
    • To ensure that all Front of House staff have adequate and appropriate training in Health and Safety and incident and fire evacuation procedures
    • To be responsible for drawing up rotas for all Front of House staff
    • To develop and deliver long term strategic business development of the clubhouse, bar and catering functions in collaboration with the General Manager
    • To be responsible for clubhouse cash management including reconciliation of takings
    • To lead the hospitality team, and to have overall responsibility for ordering of bar stock, receiving deliveries and to develop relationships with existing and new suppliers
    • To be responsible for regular and accurate beverage stock checks
    • To ensure that the bar and kitchen equipment is regularly checked, maintained and repaired where necessary
    • To act as a key holder and be on the emergency call-out list
    • Carry out any other duties as may be reasonably required
    • To lead our team of clubhouse, bar and kitchen staff, communicating effectively to ensure the motivation of these staff.
    • Staffing levels will be agreed in advance and only changed at the instruction of the General Manager
    • To work with the General Manager in developing risk assessments for clubhouse activities
    • To operate within the Club's GDPR and health and safety policies

    Qualifications:

    Previous experience in a similar role within the hospitality industry (e.g., hotel, restaurant, or club environment)

    Function management experience
    - Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team
    - Excellent organizational and time management abilities
    - Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices
    - Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel)
    - Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written
    - Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
