You must have your own vehicle as the job role will require you to drive. vehicle expenses will be paid additionally to salary.

Purpose:

Pegasus Supported Housing Limited provides shared supported housing solutions in line with housing related support which promotes independence, safety and security within the houses.

We empower our Service Users to take positive action to promote their wellbeing and achieve optimum independence within their daily lives, while preparing to achieve tenancy sustainment in preparation for their own homes.

As a Housing Officer within PSH you will be expected to work across supported housing sites in Birmingham.

You will work in close partnership with the support team to ensure all property health and safety checks are completed, prevention and management of anti-social behaviour in line with company policy and to maximise arrears recovery in line with KPI's.


Responsibilities:


  • To take ownership of Pegasus Supported Housing property portfolio delivering effective housing management service in line with property compliance and health and safety regulations.
  • To ensure service user sign up/move on are completed in line with policy and procedure.
  • To regularly audit all rent accounts and service charge payments, working closely with Life Skills coach and service users to negotiate agreed payment plans and utilise escalation processes when required to maximise income recovery for PSH.
  • To report repairs :to maintain the condition of properties and estates to protect the interests of Pegasus and ensure compliance with any management agreements.
  • To find resolutions to prevent antisocial behaviour and complaints to improve tenancy sustainment, utilising escalation processes when required.
  • To ensure all tenancies are ended appropriately, pretermination inspections are carried out and properties are secured.
  • To organise any appropriate tenant recharges in line with policy and procedure and ensure that appropriate recovery action is undertaken.
  • Attend house meetings and other local service user meetings as required.
  • To conduct void room inspections efficiently to ensure void room turnaround time is minimised.
  • To Provide an out of ours oncall telephony service on a rota basis, providing advice to service users outside of office hours.
  • Assisting with housing benefit queries to maximise rent income.

Working Arrangements & Further Information


Standard working hours for this post are 40 hours per week excluding 30 minutes per day lunch break which is unpaid.


We can be flexible around work times so your commitments are considered and the organisation can cover their requirements equally.


Essential Criteria

  • Must hold Full UK driver's license and have access to a vehicle.
  • Must have valid vehicle business insurance.

Desirable Criteria

  • Working knowledge of welfare benefit system.
  • Working towards a Housing Management qualification
  • To hold an up to date DBS through the DBS update service

£11.50-£12.00 per hour
