    Reporting to:
    Managing Director and Electrical Contracts Director

    The Electrical Estimator will be under the direction of the Directors, and responsible for the pricing and estimation of allocated enquiries.

    Responsibilities will include control and documentation relating to the designated project, close monitoring of the commercial aspect of any allocated project, ensuring compliance with all HSE legislation, internal policies and procedures relating to safe and efficient delivery of the project.

    Proven experience as an Electrical Estimator in the M&E sector, with a focus on commercial, educational, and industrial projects.


    • Proficiency in estimation software and strong analytical skills.
    • Knowledge of local building codes, regulations, and industry best practices.
    • Lead Tender settlement and Project Handover meetings with contracts manager for any secured contract.
    Site survey of potential M&E Projects, including layout design, quotation, and Client Liaison.

    Management of day-to-day estimating enquiries, preparation of detailed take-offs including queries from client requirements, safety, quality, supplier performance and improvement.

    Project cost analysis, appraisal, and budgeting
    Monitoring working practices, budgets, and reporting lack of compliance.
    Deliver quality service to the client ensuring that performance standards & contractual KPIs and SLAs are met
    Project Forecasting and scenario planning.
    a 43-year-old Mechanical Electrical, Plumbing business with ambitious growth plans.

    Based in the Wirral, we will be moving premises to adapt to 50% growth in our workforce and doubling the size of our project and client base in the past 2.There is scope for this candidate to grow with the business and there are plenty of opportunities to progress and take on more responsibility.

    The candidate must be local to the area as this is an office-based job.
    A minimum of at 5 years estimating electrical work in a commercial setting
    You must be comfortable handling large amounts of data and working collaboratively across departments.
    Strong electrical knowledge base
    Fluency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc).
    AutoCAD experience
    Basic Electrical knowledge in order to better prepare for compliant estimates
    HNC Building Services
    IOSH/NEBOSH
    Knowledge and Experience of Estimating software platforms
    As an Electrical Estimator, you will be responsible for:


    • Project Analysis: Conducting thorough analysis of project specifications, drawings, and other relevant documents to determine the scope of electrical works.
    • Accurately estimating the cost of electrical components and labour required for commercial, educational, and industrial projects.
    • Preparing comprehensive and competitive bids in collaboration with the project management and engineering teams.
    • Monitoring and managing project costs throughout the estimation process, ensuring alignment with budgetary constraints.
    • Collaborating with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive quotes and negotiate favourable terms.
    • Risk Assessment: Identifying and assessing potential risks associated with electrical projects and proposing mitigation strategies.
    • Engaging with clients to understand their requirements, providing clarification on estimates, and building strong relationships.
    • Staying updated on industry trends, material costs, and construction methodologies to enhance the accuracy of estimations.
    • Analysing company data, exchange rates and prices using software packages. Helping with bids for new contracts and supporting buying activities. Monitoring the stages of a project to make sure that costs are kept in line with forecasts
