Our client, are seeking an
Estates Maintenance Assistant to join their team. T
his role will be based across various sites in NI.


The Maintenance Assistant will provide support with basic maintenance tasks such as daily maintenance checks on equipment, taking readings, water flushing, record keeping and minor repairs.

The role will also include assisting other maintenance team members, the sub-contractor chain and self-delivery of maintenance tasks. Duties such as grounds maintenance, deliveres and driving will also form part of the role.


Pay Rate:
£10.75 Per Hour + Holiday Pay


Hours Per Week: 37.5


Working Hours: 8am - 4pm (Depending on operational requirements)

Job Duties:


  • Assist the Estates Technician and subcontractor chain, through full range of Electrical, Mechanical and Building duties.
  • After training & instruction carry out meter readings for electric, water & gas on agreed periodic schedules.
  • Carry out minor Electrical, Mechanical & Building maintenance and repairs i


e:

change lamps, tap washers, toilet syphons, adjust fire doors etc.

  • Boiler House/Plant room checks and recording of issues and performance.
  • V.I.E plant checks and recording of issues.
  • Swimming Pool, carry out maintenance and testing of water supplies to required standards, record results on log sheets.
  • Legionella checks, take water temperatures at nominated outlets and record temperature, report findings to EOM if outside parameters, assist with water tank cleaning.
  • TMV checks, testing of hot water supplies to baths, showers, bidets, in line with statutory requirements, record temperatures and inform EOM if outside parameters.
  • Plant Room Duties, sweep and tidy plant rooms as required, change filters on air handling units as required etc.
  • To undertake any duties that may arise and may reasonably be deemed to come within the scope of the post.
  • Training, to undertake any training, which would enhance and develop the role.
  • To carry out all repairs promptly, efficiently and cost effectively.
  • To carry & use hand held mobile devices to receive, log and update maintenance tasks.
  • To liaise with builders and contractors during any work on the premises.
  • To assist other departments as directed.
  • To share an "oncall" rota with other maintenance staff.
  • To assist the EOM in setting up and complying with Health & Safety and fire safety regulations.
  • To assist the EOM in complying with environmental and estates aspects of the registration and inspection legislation.
  • Grounds and Gardens maintenance carry out routine grass and hedge cutting, salting of roads & paths, snow clearing as required.
  • Use of garden equipment, mowers, hedge cutters, strimmers.
  • General site cleaning, mechanical and hand sweeping, emptying of bins around site carried out daily, jet washing as required.
  • To assist the EOM in maintaining the security of Hospice buildings and grounds.
  • To receive and check supplies or goods delivered.
  • To assist with routine collections and other errands that may be required.
  • To set up meeting rooms and equipment
  • To drive the vehicles and transport patients, specimens, case notes etc.
  • To assist staff, families and patients as directed by Line Management.
  • The cleaning of areas and items not accessible from floor level by housekeeping staff.
  • To play an active part in the overall community life.
  • To participate in an annual appraisal to identify training and development needs.

Job Criteria:


Essential:


  • Have at least 4 years' experience in Building Services maintenance.
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Good communication skills, written and verbal.
  • Awareness of relevant health and safety legislation.
  • IT Literate

Desirable:


  • Experience in Building Services Maintenance in a healthcare environment.
  • Competence in L8 water checks.
