I am working with an exceptional specialist school in Redbridge who are seeking a SEN Teaching Assistant to join their passionate and hard-working team.

The school caters for students between 11-19 years who are unable to access mainstream education due to a diagnosis of ASD and associated complex needs.

I have visited this school and was truly amazed at how welcoming and supportive the team are.

The students love coming to school and it was a heart-warming experience, seeing how the staff interact and make learning a fun experience.

You will be supported by a multi-disciplinary team; from Speech and Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists, SEN and Behaviour Specialists.

When you join as a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will also be paired with a 'buddy' on your first few weeks to ensure you settle in.

The ideal Secondary Teaching Assistant

Has experience working with autism, SLCN, nonverbal students and associated complex needs
Secondary can support with medication administration, PEG feeding, gastronomy care, and other forms of personal care
Knowledge of PECS/Makaton
Can manage challenging behaviour in a calm and professional manner intervention/restraint training is beneficial
Can build and maintain relationships with staff and students
Will go above and beyond to change the lives of young people
