Head of Development

• Location: Central Manchester, UK (with remote working options)
• Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday

A dynamic, technology-driven UK-based scale-up with a significant focus on leveraging technology to drive business success. The company have continually evolved its service offerings through a SaaS delivery model. After receiving a a multi million pound investment through Series-A funding round. They're on lookout for an Engineering leader.

They pride themselves on their tech stack, data models, and development capabilities. As the company enter a new era, they're seeking a visionary Head of Development to lead their technical direction and elevate their SaaS applications.

The Role:

As the Head of Development, you will be at the forefront of supporting the Data Science, Data Engineering, and Infrastructure functions. Your role will be critical in developing strategies and driving progress against the application roadmap. You'll transition from tactical delivery to strategic planning, identifying how technology can improve operations and drive new opportunities.

You'll lead the Development pillar and have significant input into the Data, Infrastructure, and Support pillars. This role is not just about maintaining the status quo; it's about pioneering, experimenting, and pushing the boundaries of what's possible with the technology stack.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and mentor a team of a small but highly experienced developers, fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration.
• Oversee the full development lifecycle, from concept through to deployment, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
• Collaborate with other department heads to align technology and business strategies, optimising the impact of IT projects on overall business goals.
• Stay abreast of the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices to drive continuous improvement and innovation within the team.

Required Skills & Experience:

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in full-stack development, particularly within Microsoft's Azure ecosystem.
• Strong understanding and practical experience with technologies within the Microsoft tech stack, including but not limited to .NET, ASP.NET, , GraphQL, MS Fabric, CosmosDB, and Azure Architecture.
• Proven leadership skills with a track record of leading and growing successful development teams.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and project management skills.
• Experience with Agile delivery processes and a pragmatic approach to software development.
