    Description

Lloyd's is the world's leading insurance andreinsurance marketplace. We share the collective intelligence and risk sharing expertise of the market's brightest minds, working together for a braver world.

Our role is to inspire courage, so tomorrow's progress isn't limited by today's risks.

Our shared values: we are brave; we are stronger together; we do the right thing; guide what we do and how we act. If you share our values and our passion to build a future that's more sustainable, resilient and inclusive, you'll find a home at Lloyd's – build a braver future with us.

Catastrophe risk is a major driver within the Lloyd's market and continues to evolve at pace; with this in mind we have an additional headcount to join the Aggregation team in 2024.

You will need to be an analytical problem-solver looking to make a positive impact, inspired by developing the data and tools that drive the market's understanding and control of catastrophe risk and use of outwards reinsurance.

You will continue to develop the skills and knowledge to become a technical expert, collating and analysing data from syndicates to enable effective catastrophe risk oversight across the Lloyd's market. You will need to be a solution-driven individual, with problem-solving and technical programming skills, an interest in catastrophe risk and exposure management and the curiosity to learn more about how statistical data influences the Lloyd's market catastrophe risk strategy.

A degree in a numerate or natural science subject and demonstrable experience of solving complex statistical problems, analysis and coding is required. Whilst open minded to any quantitative background or data science aspirations within (re)insurance, catastrophe modelling, risk analytics or capital modelling knowledge would be hugely advantageous. SQL skills and comfort with programming language such as R or Python is essential. Any prior experience in the following would be beneficial and/or developed in the role; Excel/VBA, Tyche/Igloo/Remetrica, R Shiny, Qlik or PowerBI.
