    Role Profile: Chief Financial Officer (CFO)- Head of Finance - Retail

    Reports to: CEO- Retail

    Department: Retail

    Location: Stanlow, UK

    Purpose of the Role:

    We are actively searching for a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) with extensive expertise and insight into the retail sector. Reporting directly to the CEO, the chosen CFO will spearhead the finance department situated in Stanlow, UK, assuming responsibility for all financial aspects of our operations.

    The core responsibilities encompass managing the balance sheet, orchestrating capital procurement activities including both equity and debt, and fostering robust relationships with financial institutions, trade partners, and other pivotal stakeholders across the UK, Mumbai (India), and Europe.

    Key Interfaces:

    Collaborate with CEO and Retail Finance team to formulate long-term finance plan and support annual and strategic business plan development.

    Enhance capital structure and review current debt profile for balance sheet strengthening.

    Cultivate and fortify relationships with banks and financial institutions; engage with decision makers and regulators at Whitehall.

    Proactively engage with HMRC and other UK financial and regulatory bodies to bolster the company's position.

    Primary Accountabilities:

    Spearhead financial strategy development, leading capital raising and funding strategy implementation, including the formulation of a comprehensive Finance Plan (1+3).

    Manage banking relationships with major banks and financial institutions, ensuring alignment with organization Fuels / Retail policy framework and compliance with financial and legal covenants.

    Evaluate financing options for capital-intensive projects, working with the CEO and Portfolio team to assess long-term equity and debt options, potential acquisitions, and strategic partnering opportunities.

    Demonstrate expertise in treasury management, including FX and risk management, to safeguard company interests.

    Ensure effective cash flow management in collaboration with the CEO, mitigating risks and meeting short-term and medium-term obligations to support expansion and growth initiatives.

    Uphold governance and compliance standards by identifying business concerns, ensuring regulatory adherence, and maintaining corporate governance practices.

    Manage relationships with external stakeholders such as equity investors, lenders, analysts, rating agencies, and government bodies, facilitating investment, growth, and acquisition deals.

    Foster internal stakeholder engagement by collaborating with various teams and leaders, including Legal, Company Secretary, Investor Relations & Retail Markets, and Group Project Finance.

    Develop and oversee financial controls, management information systems (MIS), and reporting processes, aligning annual financial projections with business plans, conducting periodic budget reviews, and presenting performance reports to the Board.

    Coordinate the issuance of financial information, ensuring the preparation of accurate financial statements, reports, analyses, and information reports to support decision-making processes.

    Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

    Qualifications

    Preferred: -

    a) Bachelor's degree in commerce, Economics, Engineering from an institution of repute

    b) Rank holder CA / CFA / Premier school MBA with specialization in Finance, accounting, strategy, from an institute of global repute in UK or abroad.

    Experience:

    5+ years of experience in CFO / Leadership roles. Should have raised funds and managed relationships.

    Prior industry experience with Retail, Oil and Gas etc. among others

    Skills and Attributes

    A strong background in retail and corporate financing and M&A.

    Exceptionally credible and proven senior finance professional who could build internal and external relationships with ease.
