SEMH Teaching Assistant - located in Moseley

Perhaps you have experience working in Mental Health, have a care background or have worked in a residential care home?

Are you a recent Graduate with experience supporting young people or adults with Mental Health disorders? Are you thinking about a career in education or as an Educational Therapist?


This SEMH Teaching Assistant role will allow you to liaise with Teacher, educational psychologists, speech and language therapists, play therapists and many other people working within the same field.

  • Supportive SEN school located in Moseley
** 1-year contract, Full-Time Post


  • All through school working from primary to post 16
  • Experience with Mental Health/Care or School SEN experience is required


For this position of a SEMH Teaching Assistant, the school want to recruit a calm and purposeful individual who has experience in a support role.

The successful Teaching Assistant would welcome the opportunity to develop themselves as they look forward toa career in education.


In this SEMH Teaching Assistant position, you could be working with primary aged children or up to post 16 (there are roles for the different age groups).

You will be leading pupils on a 1:1 basis or in small groups.

As a SEMH Teaching Assistant, you willhave the responsibility of assisting teachers with the hope of you eventually leading your own sessions.

You will be allowed to get involved in creating ECHP plans for pupils with Special Educational Needs.
