    We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated band 7 dietitian to join our department of friendly dietitians and assistant on a one year fixed term contract.

    We are one of the busiest acute trusts in London, based across Queen's Hospital in Romford and King George Hospital in Goodmayes.

    Our department includes dietitians with specialist skills in the areas of oncology, nutrition support, surgery, gastroenterology, stroke, neurosciences and paediatrics.


    Working within a team of dedicated critical care dietitians, alongside other members of the wider MDT, you will be responsible for providing highly specialist nutritional assessment and care planning for critically ill patients and will contribute to the ongoing development of the dietetic service to our critical care units.

    The successful applicant will be expected to work across both hospital sites.

    You need to have a recognised degree/diploma in Dietetics, be registered with the HCPC. Experience of critical care nutrition, complex nutritional support and gastro-intestinal surgery is essential. To provide a specialist, effective, flexible clinical dietetic service to the critical care units at BHRUT. The post holder will be expected to work across both hospital sites alongside critical care dietitians employed by the anaesthetic division
    To provide expert guidance and advice to other members of the critical care Multidisciplinary Team (MDT). To contribute to service development within own clinical area and contribute to the day to day running and development of the dietetic service through the promotion, adaptation and development of policies, procedures and guidelines using evidence-based practise and current research
    Provide leadership for the dietetic team, in conjunction with the Clinical Lead, in planning, coordinating, delivering, and evaluating the dietetic service provided to patients within your specialist area on a day-to-day basis
    To deputise in the absence of senior colleagues as required

    We provide care for the residents of three diverse London boroughs.

    Most of our 7,800 permanent staff live in Barking and Dagenham, Havering and Redbridge and the majority are from black, Asian and minority ethnic groups.

    We also provide healthcare services to people in south west Essex, and specialist neurosciences services to the whole of the county.


    Our services include all the major specialties of large acute hospitals and we operate from two main sites - King George Hospital in Goodmayes and Queen's Hospital in Romford.

    We have two of the busiest emergency departments in London - more than 300,000 people visited our A& Es in 2023.

    We also provide outpatient services at Brentwood Community Hospital, Barking Community Hospital, Loxford Polyclinic, and Harold Wood Polyclinic.


    The Elective Surgical Hub at King George Hospital is one of eight to be accredited as part of a national scheme the Care Quality Commission has raised the ratings forurgent and emergency careat Queen's and King George hospitals anddata released by NHS Englandshowed that the Trust was the most improved in 2023 for reducing waits for emergency care.


    We are particularly proud of our regional Neurosciences Centre Radiotherapy Centre Hyper Acute Stroke Unit and dedicated breast care service at King George Hospital.

    Degree (or equivalent) in Dietetics & registered with HCPC

    Willingness to continue post graduate training and development to MSc level

    To have at least 1 years acute clinical experience in critical care at band 6 level and a minimum of 3 years post-graduate experience
