    Job Description

    We are looking for a School Business and Finance Manager to join our fantastic team at Catch22 Include London.

    The School Business and Finance Manager will be a member of the Senior Leadership Team and will have strategic responsibility for Finance, Human Resources, Facilities Management including site health and safety, ICT and managing external contracts and Administration including being the named Exams officer.

    Main Duties and Accountabilities:

    • To be a member of the Senior Leadership Team with responsibility for the strategic leadership and development of the resource, business and administrative functions of the school.
    • To have leadership and management responsibility for all aspects of support including Finance, Premises, ICT networks, administrative functions, Health & Safety and People Services including personnel.
    • To have Leadership and Management responsibility, to ensure, that Legal, Health & Safety requirements with regard to people and property and function of the school are maintained.
    • To be the responsible for all examination administration and support with appropriate compliance.
    • To support ensuring that safeguarding policies and procedures are adhered to.
    • To liaise with relevant members of the Local Authority (LA) and other commissioners in matters relating to school finance, premises and personnel.
    • To establish, monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of all financial systems, policies and procedures, reviewing and refining as necessary.
    • To develop best value strategies in all areas of school life.
    • To contribute to whole school development planning and lead on whole school systems and processes.

    Qualifications

    Essential Qualifications:

    • Educated to degree level
    • A qualification in School Business Management or a relevant professional qualification in Financial Management and/or Human Resources at level 5

    Essential Knowledge:

    • Knowledge of the management of contracts and tenders
    • Full working knowledge of relevant policies/codes of practice/legislation, such as Safeguarding and knowledge of Keeping Children Safe in Education
    • Full knowledge of compliance relating to the Joint Council for Qualifications (JCQ)

    Essential Experience:

    • Extensive knowledge of school finances
    • Experience of staff management
    • Experience of planning and reviewing the delivery of services and projects
    • Experience of partnership working at a senior level
    • Evidence of working in an education or vocational training setting at management level.
    • Experience of managing staff and/or volunteers
    • Previous experience of financial management and control

    • To be able to develop finance strategies
    • Well developed problem solving and evaluation skills
    • High level of interpersonal skills
    • Ability to develop and sustain partnerships
    • Ability to inspire, lead and motivate staff, including performance appraisal and career development
    • Ability to prepare and manage budgets within agreed limits
    • Highly developed oral, written and presentation skills
    • Ability to influence and negotiate effectively
    • Strong communication and engagement skills. Able to form strong connections with professionals and other partners and to motivate them to work collaboratively in the best interests of the school
    Additional Information

    Salary: £40,000 per annum
    Hours of work: Full time, 37 hours per week
    Contract: Full-time, Permanent
