Description

Mid-Yorks is looking for a Urogynaecologist to join our current team due to a combination of partial retirement and an increasing workload.

Mid-Yorkshire is a little unusual in that it has 2 subspecialty Urogynaecologists and hence provides a much more complex service than would be expected in a district general Hospital setting.

There is close collaboration with functional Urologists and the Dysfunctional bowel colorectal service so that together with our specialist physiotherapists we can provide a complete and comprehensive pelvic floor service to our local community.

We offer the full range of continence procedures for all types of incontinence from bulking through to autologous slings and from Botox to Sacral Neuromodulation We also offer a full range of prolapse surgery and are one of the few centers that offers harvested fascia lata for laparoscopic vault support procedures.

We are looking to move into Robotic assisted surgery with the Trust keen to invest in that area We have access to the full range of Urodynamic testing conventional dual channel, video and ambulatory) and are supported by a team of dedicated medical physicists We provide a comprehensive post OASI service with anal manometry and management of extensive perineal scarring including collaboration with plastic surgeons where required We have regular MDTs across the whole range of our practice and have adopted the approach that anyone being offered a quality of life procedure should be discussed through a robust MDT system.

We are keen collaborators and have regular joint theatre lists both within urogynaecology itself but also with urology and colorectal colleagues for mutual support and learning We are looking for enthusiastic colleagues who share our passion for managing pelvic floor pathology; who can show an excellent working knowledge and understanding of this subspeciality and enjoy team working.

The successful applicants will need to take part in covering the acute service and therefore need to be equipped with a skill set to manage emergency gynaecology and early pregnancy problems.

Mid Yorkshire NHS Trust works across 3 sites (Pinderfields, Dewsbury and Pontefract) and the successful applicant will be required to work across all 3 sites of the Trust.

Routinely, staff are not expected to cross site for clinical activities in the same day.

The main duties of the post will include:

  • Urogynaecology out-patient clinics ( regular outpatients, urodynamics, cystoscopy )
