Job summary:


The Strategy Group Business Management Team provides a quality business management and support service to the entire group and the directorates within it and have been working across the Group for 18 months.

This new and exciting role has been developed to provide an opportunity for us to improve the level of service that we provide and have a dedicated resource to deliver improvement activity across the team functions and use the Power Platform tools to design and implement new products and support existing products and tools that we have in place.


The role holder will support the team to:

  • Identify opportunities for process improvement within the team processes and implement them.
  • Identify opportunities to utilise the Power Platform of tools (Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate) to improve existing tools and practices and implement the products and support existing products using the Power Platform.


The role will also ensure that we have process maps in place for the team transactional and common processes and that ways of working are documented.


The role holder will have a high degree of autonomy to design new and better ways of working once an improvement opportunity has been identified.


Job description:

Some of the day to day tasks will include:

  • Carrying out process reviews to ensure we have the most effective way of delivering our transactional activity
  • Helping to identify opportunities to create efficiencies by better use of tools and technology (including Automation, Apps and reporting dashboards)
  • Creating and implementing new tools using the Power Platform suite of tools
  • Providing support to the team on how to use any new tools created
  • Providing support to ensure that existing tools using the Power Platform suite are supported and maintained
  • Completing process mapping activity ensuring that the processes we have are documented and able to be followed.


This is a new role into the team and the role holder will be able to shape and develop the role as it continues to develop.

The main emphasis is to ensure that we have the right tools and processes to deliver the best and most efficient business managing support as possible.


Person specification:


Essential Criteria

  • A developed knowledge of the Power Platform suite of tools (Power BI, Power Automate and Power Apps) [We're not expecting an expert but you will need to be able to demonstrate the ability to be able to build tools using these platforms to a professional, operational and intermediate level].
  • A solid knowledge of using Microsoft tools such as word, excel, PowerPoint.
  • Using Microsoft non standard products such as SharePoint to an Intermediate level.
  • Being able to project manage the development of new ideas and tools.
  • The ability to explore problems and process opportunities and identify simple and effective solutions to overcome and resolve the problem.
  • Some experience of Business Management processes and practice.
  • Skilled and trained in the use of the MS Power Platform Suite to an intermediate level.
