Description

Our client is one of the largest providers of education management software in the UK and they influence the lives of over one million people every day through a range of web and mobile products.

This is a fully remote role, a fixed-term contract lastingat least 6 months.

In this role, you'll help boost the existing support team whilst the company work through its transition of customers to its new payments engine.

This role will require someone that can learn quickly and be comfortable working independently, in a small team.
You will be expected to become the go-to person for technical queries for the duration of the transition.

The work will focus purely on providing customer support and acting as the 3rd line technical engineer and will not require any development of new features,or functionality.

Responsibilites

  • Diagnose and resolve system issues by carrying out root cause analysis
  • Be proactive in flagging, escalating, and owning the resolution of site reliability and performance issues
  • Work closely with support teams to accelerate delivery of issues resolutions to customers
  • Harness the insights provided by monitoring solutions to inform where improvements should be made
Skill and Experience

  • Experience of working in a role where the primary responsibility is for live customer support
  • A highly motivated and proactive individual, with a positive attitude and desire to leave things better than you found them
  • A strong team player that can work independently without constant management
  • Works well under pressure to respond quickly to any production issues and find meaningful workarounds until a release can be made
  • Knowledge of writing complex and efficient SQL for relational databases such as Microsoft SQL Server is preferred
  • Maintaining solutions hosted in Microsoft Azure
  • Knowledge of Microsoft web development technologies i.e.
Net Framework & MVC

  • Experience of using remote support tools
  • Experience in deploying, monitoring, and troubleshooting large scale, distributed, cloud systems
  • Awareness of Microsoft web development technologies, including.
Net Core, Asp.
Net, Web API (desirable)

  • Awareness of Web services technologies such as SOAP, HTTP, WSDL, XSD, REST and OData (desirable)
  • Awareness of XML, JSON and CSV (desirable)
  • Knowledge of supporting financial payment systems and systems holding personal data (desirable)
  • Basic programming knowledge (desirable)
