Workforce Engagement Officer, Edgbaston Cricket Ground, Birmingham

£24,000 per annum

We are looking for a new Workforce Engagement Officer who will be the first point of contact for all new and existing staff within the casual workforce at Edgbaston Cricket Ground.

You will be required to engage and motivate the workforce to register for future shifts and remain in employment, dealing with any issues that may arise.

There will be a responsibility to maintain the database of staff, undertaking regular housekeeping to ensure an accurate number of active workers are recorded.

This is a full time, permanent position, with an immediate start for the right person.

You will work 37.5 hours per week, however the hours of work will be business dependent, so could be during the evenings and weekends depending on match fixtures.

You will be part of our Operation Management Team and you will be the person delivering the induction and friendly welcome, contacting new members of staff both prior to and following their first shift.

You will have 360 engagement and feedback to the Contract Manager and Sector Managers on a regular basis.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Contact all new staff to book induction appointments at the stadium
  • Assist new staff with any training issues, including how to use the Javelin portal
  • Maximise the number of staff being scheduled into each event, by way of engaging with the workforce, either face to face or electronically
  • Produce google forms, posters and other documents to attract and maintain the workforce
  • Produce reports for the Contract Manager showing engagement figures, training records, etc
  • Liaising and interacting with the casual workforce, Training Department, onsite Management Team, including Sector Managers, Recruitment Team, HRSS Team and the IT Department
  • Be the first point of contact for any queries from the casual workforce and assist/signpost in the right direction
  • Handling and responding to any queries coming to the business unit and deal with appropriately, referring onto the Contract Manager if required
  • Monitor and maintain the database of casual staff and clear off the system those that have not undertaken a work shift within a set period of time
  • Requirement to work during event/match days, showing flexibility when required
  • Bring new ideas and initiatives to the department to improve delivery and efficiency

Skills & Knowledge:


Essential:


  • IT literate with intermediate knowledge of the Google Suite
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong building and maintenance of relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Enthusiasm and drive towards results with previous experience of working in a fast paced environment
  • A minimum of 12 months experience within an admin based role
  • Ability to strategically articulate communications to the onsite management team, inspiring confidence

Desirable:


  • Experience of engaging with a casual workforce
  • Demonstrable experience in the events industry
