    Default job background
    Description
Are you interested in building innovative technology that leads in the financial markets? Do you like working at the speed of a startup but want to tackle some of the world's most sophisticated problems? Do you want to work with, and learn from, hands-on leaders in technology and finance?

At BlackRock, we are looking for an Enterprise Architect , Head of Unified Reference Architecture who likes to innovate and tackle sophisticated problems.

We recognize that strength comes from diversity, and will embrace your outstanding skills, curiosity, and passion while giving you the opportunity to grow technically and as an individual.

We invest and protect over $8 trillion (USD) of assets and have an outstanding responsibility to our clients all over the world.

Our technology empowers millions of investors to save for retirement, pay for college, buy a home, and improve their financial well-being.

Being a technologist at BlackRock means you get the best of both worlds: working for one of the most sophisticated financial companies and being part of an engineering community responsible for next-generation technology and solutions.

You will be a member of the Enterprise Architecture team (EA), reporting directly to the Global Head of Enterprise Architecture.

EA is a team within the Aladdin Engineering team and responsible for building a firm wide architecture culture and embedding our architecture principles into everything we do.

They are responsible for providing a comprehensive blueprint that guides decision making, planning and execution across Aladdin.

As Head of Unified Reference Architecture, you will lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive Unified Reference Architecture (UnRA) framework for our Aladdin Asset Management Platform.

This framework will prioritize dynamic scalability, adaptability, and resilience to unlock the full potential of Aladdin, build an open platform for asset management, and lead the industry in using data and AI.

Develop and maintain a Unified Reference Architecture framework that promotes dynamic scalability, adaptability, modularity, and resilience, and supports the organization's strategic goals.

Collaborate with multi-functional teams to drive the adoption and implementation of the Unified Reference Architecture framework, providing guidance and support to ensure alignment to defined principles, patterns, and guidelines.

Lead and mentor a community of domain architects, fostering their professional growth and knowledge sharing, and creating a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.

Work closely with business leaders, product managers, and technical teams to understand business requirements and translate them into architectural solutions that align with the Unified Reference Architecture framework.

Stay ahead of emerging technologies, industry trends, and standard methodologies, and continuously evolve the Unified Reference Architecture to meet evolving business and technology needs.

A Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

Confirmed experiences (5+ years) as an enterprise architect, solution architect, or similar role, with a focus on scalable, adaptable, modular, and resilient architectures.

Strong understanding of modern architectural patterns, cloud computing concepts, microservices, API-driven architectures, and distributed systems.
Experience with Domain Driven Design practices for designing APIs, events, and data for loosely coupled application architectures.

Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies and experience working in an Agile development environment.
Familiarity with architecture strategies to reflect security and compliance

To help you stay energized, engaged and inspired, we offer a wide range of employee benefits including: retirement investment and tools designed to help you in building a sound financial future; access to education reimbursement; and Flexible Time Off (FTO) so you can relax, recharge and be there for the people you care about.
