Our client are looking for a Buyer to join their manufacturing site based in Droitwich, initially on a temporary contract, with a strong possibility it will lead to a permanent role.
Role responsibilities:
- To be responsible for the timely and cost effective placing of orders and expediting of materials for given commodity ranges.
- To ensure the on time delivery of material to the site to enable Production to deliver on time to our customers.
- To develop productive working relationships with suppliers, projecting at all times a professional view of the Company in line with the Company values.
- To manage the MRP/MPS/SIC Planning effectively.
- To monitor inventory level by supplier and take appropriate action should anomalies occur. To monitor and manage consignment stock.
- To continuously work to improve supply chain lead time and efficiency of operation.
- To actively develop your skills and technical knowledge including taking part in on or off the job training.
- To ensure that the Customers Orders are delivered "On time"
- One of the most critical element of this job function.
- To reduce costs and decrease Lead times from the Suppliers.
- To manage the Supplier On time performance to 95%.
- To maintain the Item master in ERP system for key fields for
- Purchasing; Planning.
2ND MAIN JOB ACCOUNTABILITY
- To pay due care to the health and safety of others and yourself.
- To ensure that Inventory levels are optimised to manage 99% on time to Customers.
- To proactively communicate and work with members of your own and other departments to ensure standards of service to customers and business objectives are achieved.
Role Requirements
- Good knowledge and understanding of the company's MRP system.
- A good understanding of the Company's products and the processes of supply chain and other departments.
- IT skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- The ability to write reports/complete paperwork accurately and legibly.
- Initiative, selfmotivation and commitment to achieving high standards of quality and efficiency.
- A proactive and flexible attitude.
- Recognized qualifications or working towards qualifications in the field of Materials management
