Salary up to £63,000 depending on experience plus a relocation allowance up to £5,000

Here at Robson Veterinary Centre, we are looking for a part-time Veterinary Surgeon to join our team. Responsibilities are shared across the whole Vet team with every one operating and consulting by rota.

Our typical day runs from 8:30am to 7pm with protected breaks, lunchtimes and admin slots being given. The day after you have been responsible for our inpatients, you get an early finish at 6:30pm. Our weekends are shared equally at 1:5 which run from Friday evening through to Monday morning, though again overnight is only inpatient care, no out of hours calls as these are passed to Vets Now. Saturday consulting is 8:30-4pm, with an extended no consult period in the middle (12:30-2:30) in case of any admissions.

Robson Vets is a dedicated small animal practice, with the occasional exotic species thrown in, based in the beautiful Howe o' the Mearns village of Laurencekirk, South Aberdeenshire. We are passionate about offering our patients and clients the best possible care, and tailor every case individually. Our vacancy is for a permanent, part-time veterinary surgeon who shares this passion.

We are within a few miles of beautiful coastlines, beaches, hills, fells and the Cairngorm Mountains. If you love the outside life, this is the place for you If you don't, we're only 30 miles away from Aberdeen and Dundee, so city life is just up the road. A perfect balance we would say.

The practice is based in Laurencekirk with a branch consultation clinic in the nearby town of Montrose.

We are a Practice Standards Scheme Tier 2 General Practice, ISFM Silver accredited Cat Friendly Practice, Puppy Friendly practice as well as being a VNTP. We also have recently become a Positive Pawprint Partner, showing our ongoing commitment to sustainability and environmentally friendly processes wherever possible.

Equipment for you to use includes a full equipped in house lab, with artificial intelligence diagnostic facilities soon to be added, DR x-ray with CR dental x-ray, again with SignalPet available for immediate reports, ultrasound with cardiac probe, a portable ECG machine, linked directly to specialists for reports same day, cold laser (Class IV), rigid and flexible endoscopes and more. We also work closely with several local referral centres for easy access to CT scans, MRI, fluoroscopy and other advanced procedures.

We have 2 fully equipped, dedicated operating theatres, a designated dental suite and separate dog, cat and isolation facilities. We also have an ICU ward.

Our staff of 22 include 4 Vets, 5 Registered Veterinary Nurses and 3 Student Veterinary Nurses (2 about to qualify. Individual interests are encouraged and supported – we currently have 2 staff members working towards CertAVP's and would support you in your choice of advanced training as well. Our monthly staff meetings and weekly team huddles give you a chance for your voice to be heard, and we want to hear it.
