My client is looking for a Data Protection Officer. As the Data Protection Officer, you will play a critical role in ensuring compliance with data protection regulations, particularly the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and other relevant laws. You will be responsible for overseeing the university's data protection policies, procedures, and practices to safeguard the privacy and security of personal data.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., law, information technology, data management).
• Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP) or equivalent certification preferred.
• Extensive knowledge of data protection laws and regulations, particularly GDPR.
• Proven experience in a data protection or privacy role, preferably in the higher education sector.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess risks and develop effective mitigation strategies.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities effectively.
• Experience working in higher education
