Warwick Arts Centre develops and delivers exceptional participatory, audience and visitor experiences with the following priorities in mind:

  • Delivering a creative learning and audience development programme made and co-designed with communities and schools in areas of low engagement with the arts locally.
  • Delivering a wide programme of participatory events which includes off and on stage activity at Warwick Arts Centre, involving local communities, schools and students.
  • Deliver a programme of activities and events with, by and for residents and creatives which animate our foyer spaces and transform it from a transitioning space to a vibrant social hub a venue for all our communities.
  • Programming artistic work across all artforms to cater for and respond to local and national audiences and visitors. Ranging from work requiring investment to commercial, high risk to mainstream, young to seasoned and to include local, national and international.
  • Supporting talent development at all levels/stages. Providing free space, advice and guidance, networking, skills and knowledge exchange opportunities. Partner with associate producers and other partners to provide artist and new work development opportunities.


Our Creative Learning team plays a central role in developing our profile and maintaining our presence in our local community, connecting people of all ages and all backgrounds to our programme.

The aim of the programme is to discover, inspire, nurture and support the next generation of artists and arts audiences with a focus on people who have been historically excluded and underserved by society.

Our key audience strands are families and early years, schools, youth and communities.


Roles and Responsibilities

  • Providing support for the Creative Learning programme, across audience strands such as youth, families, schools and communities.
  • To input ideas into Creative Learning planning meetings for artists, projects and activities.
  • Providing assistance with the precontract negotiations with artists, including updating artist briefs
  • Liaison with and responding to enquiries from artists, teachers and companies as instructed by Head of Creative Learning.
  • Developing and maintaining internal and external contacts.
  • Coordination of meetings and diary management.
  • Dealing with enquiries and booking in Sculpture Trails and school visits
  • Taking workshop bookings and producing necessary paperwork.
  • Liaison with Arts Centre staff and various University departments to circulate information.
  • Coordinate and administer the Creative Learning Department projects. Duties may include updating artists briefs, arranging accommodation for artists, ordering materials, writing risk assessments, organising transport for schools, coordinating schedules and rotas, writing website copy, arranging hospitality.
  • Administration of project paperwork and electronic planning systems to include processing and inputting information and onto our Content Management Systems (Artifax)
  • Liaison with the marketing team to ensure Creative Learning events are 'live' and details are accurate in print and online.
  • Working with the Operations Team to ensure all logistics are communicated around Creative Learning projects and activities where relevant.
  • Coordinate visiting artists'/companies' requirements including accommodation, hospitality, coordinate schedules and ensure adherence to budgets.
  • Administer and coordinate attendance at any Creative Learning events including preparation of guest lists, invitations, tickets and hospitality.
  • Administer and coordinate recruitment and supervision of casual staff across the Creative Learning programme including arranging DBS disclosures.
  • Administering the induction procedure for artists and casual workers on the Creative Learning programme to ensure policies and procedures around the relevant projects are communicated.
