    We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and motivated Clinical Scientist or Radiographer to lead the Physics Business Unit at The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre NHS Foundation Trust.

    Main duties of the job The successful candidate, working alongside the Clinical Director, Consultant Clinical Scientists and Physics Quality & Operations Lead, will be responsible for managing the operational delivery of services within the Physics Business Unit, ensuring that services are safe, efficient and effective. You will be key part of the Radiation Services Divisional management team, contributing to the business planning of the Division, supporting the work of several Site Reference Groups (SRGs) and delivering objectives for the Business Unit that enable the Division to meet the Trust's strategic and operational objectives. About us The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre NHS Foundation Trust provides highly specialist cancer care for a population of 2.4million people across Cheshire & Merseyside, North Wales, the Isle of Man and parts of Lancashire. In June 2020, we opened Clatterbridge Cancer Centre - Liverpool, our spectacular new cancer hospital in the heart of Liverpool's Knowledge Quarter, providing state-of-the-art facilities as part of a 162m investment. Alongside our flagship hospital in Liverpool, we also have two other main cancer centres:
    • Clatterbridge Cancer Centre - Wirral, providing outpatient cancer treatment and supportive care on the Clatterbridge Health Campus in Bebington, Wirral.
    • Clatterbridge Cancer Centre - Aintree, our radiotherapy treatment centre on the Aintree University Hospital site.
    The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre has a comprehensive radiotherapy service including external beam radiotherapy, brachytherapy, contact radiotherapy and low energy proton beam therapy for ocular tumours. As a dedicated non-surgical oncology trust we are focused on excellent patient pathways and patient-centre care, with the aim to continuously improve and advance radiotherapy practices. Working with leading experts from The University of Liverpool and the Cancer Research UK Liverpool Cancer Trials Unit we strive to stay at the forefront of novel treatments and techniques to deliver more effective and personalised treatments than ever before. Job description Job responsibilities It is desirable that the post holder has significant experience at a senior level, with an excellent understanding and knowledge of a forward thinking and modern physics service. The successful candidate would be expected to have excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills, and be able to develop good relationships across all areas of the Trust and with external stakeholders. NMC and that other statutory or voluntary registration will be considered.

    • Master degree level or equivalent experience
    • Recognised management qualification or willingness to work towards
    • Professional registration (HCPC) as a Clinical Scientist or Radiographer
