We are seeking a Prospect Researcher to join our team where you will be instrumental in driving a change in the way that St John identifies and nurtures prospective sources of funding and support.

You will manage the prospect research function within the Philanthropy and Partnerships team; continuing to embed a best practice approach and GDPR compliant systems and processes to identify opportunities to enable the fundraising team to beat its ambitious fundraising targets, cultivating financial support from philanthropists, trusts and foundations and companies.

About You:


  • Significant experience of undertaking research and due diligence within a charity or commercial setting
  • Experience of creating and implementing new systems or processes to drive continuous improvement
  • Strong levels of IT literacy with experience of data analysis and producing data driven management reports
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to tailor delivery to suit a variety of audience
  • Knowledge and understanding of fundraising compliance principles, cultivation, stewardship and donor care

About The Role:


  • Manage the prospect research function within Fundraising and work in collaboration with fundraising peers to undertake prospect research, due diligence checks and network mapping to support the development of the high value fundraising team's pipelines and contribute to the overall target of the fundraising Directorate
  • Work in partnership with high value fundraising colleagues to create efficient processes to refer prospective opportunities and monitor progress, supporting activity to maximise conversion of prospects to donors
  • Carry out ethical reviews where required for prospective donors and act as the Data Governance Representative for the Fundraising Team
  • Provide Management Information and reports on a regular and adhoc basis, as is necessary. Analyse data and market information to identify trends and patterns in Fundraising activities
